Our podcast explored how AI and Digital Transformation are no longer buzzwords—they’re becoming a natural part of daily life.
If life were a house, AI would be the walls.
That question stuck with me during my podcast with Sir Janni Boydon—an educator, tech advocate, and founder of Startup Podcast PH, a platform that showcases the startup talent of the Philippines. Throughout our conversation, he used a simple but powerful metaphor: if life were a house, AI would be its walls. In short, it’s no longer just a tool—it’s part of the foundation.
As we continued, it became clear that AI isn’t coming someday—it’s already here. Moreover, it’s becoming part of our everyday routines, whether through personalized recommendations, automated services, or tools that help us work and learn faster. And while many are still adjusting, there’s no denying its presence will only grow.
From Tools to Thinking: Teaching AI with Purpose
We dove into how AI is already reshaping the way we learn, especially in programming and digital skills. No longer are we stuck memorizing syntax line by line. Instead, platforms like Cursor, Replit, and Bolt.new now allow students to build and test ideas faster—by focusing on logic and reasoning over rote code.
Still, Sir Janni was clear: just because AI can give answers doesn’t mean it should do all the thinking. In fact, that’s where the real work begins.
That’s why proper guidance and digital literacy matter. Because when learners understand how to use AI as a tool—not a crutch—they become problem-solvers, not just button-pushers. This is where AI and Digital Transformation meet: it’s not just about the tech, but how we shape the people who use it.
What This Means for the Future
Ultimately, our conversation reminded me of something I’ve seen across many of our projects: technology alone doesn’t drive change. It’s people—equipped with the right mindset, values, and training—who make transformation possible.
So if AI is going to be the new walls of our digital house, then it’s our job to make sure those walls support learning, growth, and equity.
Let’s make it count.
